GFS is dedicated to support efforts to curb Global Warming through programs that provide technical assistance to improve tropical forest management; generate carbon credits through rehabilitating degraded forests to sequester carbon and through avoided deforestation (REDD). GFS provides systems for companies and individuals to become Carbon Neutral for their activities and for manufacturing and trading of wood based products. GFS also provides solutions for companies to demonstrate that products are responsibly sourced and traceable back to a verified legal origin (VLO) to meet international requirements such as FLEGT.

GFS will work towards its mission through the development of a network of associated companies and professionals to under formalized programs in forest management, carbon credit generation and wood processing and trade. GFS aims to work with all sections of the supply chain, from forest managers, processors, manufacturers and retailers to attain the highest standards. As independent organization providing 3rd party verification, GFS is keen to provide the necessary market assurances by working in conjunction with internationally recognized bodies that provide agreed frameworks for demonstrating compliance with the best international standards.

GFS provides the ground based technical assistance to members of the forest and timber industry through full forest and chain of custody certification through FSC or MTCC, or through the WWF Global Forest and Trade Network system that allow members to demonstrate compliance to a stepwise approach to full certification. GFS is also able to provide client specific programmes to address particular market needs for an individual consignment or for a given customer.

Global Forestry Services Inc is committed to provide professional services through existing programs that focus on supporting the sustainable management of forest resources (Forestry Support Program) and tracking of material (Wood Tracking Program) within wood processing & trade industries. GFS will also strive to combat Global Warming through formal Carbon Credit Support Program that allows companies to become Carbon Neutral and offset their emissions. GFS will also provide 3^rd party verification, for market assurance of legality of timber and wood products in accordance to formalized standards for Verified Legal Origin (VLO) to meet responsible purchasing and FLEGT requirements.

GFS programs are designed to create a formalized framework for stepwise support that is needed to develop the systems for forestry, carbon credit / Global Warming & responsible purchasing to meet certification standards. GFS shall make efforts to continually improve its programs and services to meet our clients’ needs while supporting to improve the environment.

Established in 2004 GFS has been established by one of the most experienced teams of forest and timber industry auditors in SE Asia. The core staff within GFS comprise of 6 members all with over 8 years of forest auditing experience as lead auditors under the FSC System for FMUs or Chain of Custody. With over 100 CoC’s and 20 FMUs carried out by staff members throughout the Asian region there is a depth of knowledge and understanding of the issues that has been brought together to service the needs of all clients. Beyond the direct staff GFS also works in close association with a number of other companies to support implementation of GFS programs worldwide.

GFS has recently launched the Carbon Credit Support Program that is expected to become a key factor in GFS services to support rehabilitation of degraded tropical forests and combat global warming. GFS is an extremely innovative company that is expanding its services to support generation of carbon credits from forest management to support companies and individuals to become Carbon Neutral. GFS will also spearhead the system to quantify & verify carbon storage in wood based products as an integral part of the Carbon Credit Support Program & the Wood Tracking Program.

in response to our clients needs and due to our extensive knowledge and exposure to the forest sector within Asia and beyond GFS has been building partnerships in a number of different ways. As there has been increasing calls for environmental and social responsibility by responsible suppliers and purchasers GFS has become increasingly involved in strengthening the partnerships between trading companies, forestry managers and investors. The result is that GFS is currently developing investment opportunities in Sabah, Cambodia, Philippines, Thailand and Guyana.
